GENERAL RULES

  • EACH TEAM WILL GET A MINIMUM OF 3 GAMES GUARANTEED. (SOME OF THE DIVISIONS WITH AN ODD NUMBER OF TEAMS MAY HAVE SOME TEAMS WITH 1 MORE GAME THAN THE REST.  THAT WAS JUST THE LUCK OF THE DRAW DUE TO THE ODD NUMBER OF TEAMS IN THAT PARTICULAR DIVISION.)
  • $0 CITY/COUNTY ADMISSION TO THE COMPLEX (AGES 3+ PER DAY/PER PERSON)
  • PITCH ARC 6-10FT
  • PITCH PUMP FAKE ALLOWED
    (5 Sec Release Period after Presenting to HomePlate)
  • MUST HIT ISPS BLUE ROCKS 44/375 BALLS (FOR SALE AT THE EVENT $10/EACH, $60/6, $100/12)
  • ASA & USSSA BATS ALLOWED.
  • SENIOR BATS ONLY ALLOWED IN 40+ & 50+
  • PLAYERS MUST HAVE ATHLETE CARDS AT ALL TIMES (VIRTUAL/DIGITAL OK)
  • 1&1 COUNT
    W/ NO EXTRA FOUL AFTER 2 STRIKES
  • PITCHER'S HAVE UP TO 3FT BEHIND THE RUBBER
  • 1 UNIVERSAL RUNNER PER TEAM (DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN LINE-UP)
  • UNIVERSAL RUNNER MAY RUN UNLIMITED TIMES (1 RUNNER PER GENDER)
  • IF THE UNIVERSAL RUNNER IS ON BASE WHEN HE/SHE IS UP TO BAT IT IS AN AUTOMATIC OUT AT THE PLATE. (UNIVERSAL RUNNER DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN THE LINE-UP)
  • NO METALS CLEATS
  • 15-12-10 RUN RULE
    (3rd-4th-5th Inning)
  • 60 MINUTE TIME-LIMIT (NO NEW INNING AFTER 55 MINUTES)
  • UNIFORM RULE IN EFFECT (ONLY TOPS) (AUTOMATIC LOSE FLIP IF NOT IN UNIFORM.  IF BOTH TEAMS DO/DON'T HAVE UNIFORMS, YOU WILL FLIP)

 

Additional Rules for 40+ & 50+:

  • ANY PLAYER TURNING 40/50 WITHIN 1 CALENDAR YEAR FROM THE DAY OF COMPETITION.

  • 5 runs per inning

  • The 7th inning is the unlimited Runs inning

  • 8 HOME RUNS or AN OUT

  • Commitment line in effect (halfway to home plate)

  • Side Home Plate

  • Face Mask is Mandatory FOR PITCHER (CANNOT BE FIRST TO FIELD BALL IF PITCHER DOES NOT HAVE A MASK ON)

  • Pitch Arch is 6 to 10ft from the ground

  • The pitcher can release the ball 3 ft behind the rubber.

 

ADDITIONAL CoED RULES

  • The format for COED is 4/6 or 5/7

  • Only 2 males can bat back to back.

  • Females can play anywhere on the field.  Must play with 4 girls on the field.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Can I have a discount?  AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO DISCOUNT FOR THIS TOURNAMENT.
  2. Where can I register my team?  Register your team at playisps.com/TRANQUILOYTROPICAL.
  3. Will the Men's/Women's Divisions Conflict with CoED Divisions?  We will try our best for the divisions not to conflict.  Men's & Women's Divisions will be played Saturday.  The CoED Divisions will be on Sunday.
  4. Will the Men's 40+ & 50+ be combined?  We hope to get enough teams for separate individual divisions.  But if we do not, we will look at the option of combining with an equalizer.
  5. When is the deadline to register?  The overall deadline to register is APRIL 10th.
  6. How much is the team entry fee?  Right now the team entry fee is $400.
  7. Do rosters have to be online?  Yes, rosters must be online by APRIL 10TH.
  8. Which bat stamps are allowed?  All USSSA, ASA, & ISPS Stamps Bats will be allowed.
  9. Which balls will be allowed?  You must play with ISPS Stamped Blue Rocks or BAMM Balls.  We will have them for sale at the event for $100/Dozen.
  10. What are your player ranking equivalents?  Bronze=E, Silver=D, Gold=C+, Platinum=OPEN
  11. If I've never played ISPS, how do I get ranked?  We will go by your latest ranking in other associations (ex. USSSA, ASA, etc.).
  12. How many Athletes may be on the team roster?  You may have a maximum of 20 Athletes on your Roster.
  13. Is the uniform rule in effect?  NO
  14. Is there overnight RV parking at the complex? No, there is no overnight parking at the complex.
  15. Is there a minimum number of teams needed for full prize payout?  Yes, minimum 10 teams in a division for a full payout.
