A message from our Commissioner

To our international slow pitch softball family,

I wanted to personally reach out to you and connect with you about the actions and steps we are taking (and have taken) to help you to ensure the health and safety of everyone while supporting our global community.

Your health and wellness, and that of our teams, players, fans, directors, umpires, officials, staff, family, and friends is of the utmost importance to us.

Every day brings new developments related to Coronavirus (COVID-19), and the uncertainty can be unsettling.

While the CDC, is currently recommending any event of 50 people or more to be canceled or postponed, and local health officials' recommendations may (and probably will) change as the situation develops, we wanted to reach out to you personally, and inform you of the precautions and protocols we are taking to prioritize your health and wellness.

While working closely all last week with our local directors and government officials in South Florida we decided to postpone our 2020 Winter World Championships this past weekend.  And we have advised all our global directors and officials to work directly with their local authorities and follow all local advisories and always use safety above all else.

We understand that this is may be a very uncertain and confusing situation for all.  Please know that we will all get through this period together.  We can always play another day.  Your safety and health are what is important right now.

Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to everyone who has been affected by this worldwide crisis.

Please stay safe.  We'll see you all on the field very soon.

God bless.

Sincerely,

Manuel T. Ferrero III, Commissioner of ISPS
