Los funcionarios de ISPS, incluido el Comisionado Manuel T. Ferrero III, y los Directores Luis Figueroa e Ivan Galindo, se reúnen virtualmente con líderes de la comunidad de slow-pitch tanto de San Pedro Sula como de la ciudad capital de Tegucigalpa.

Todo comenzó cuando el Comisionado Ferrero leyó un artículo sobre la comunidad de slow-pitch en Honduras que tiene problemas para encontrar un lugar seguro para jugar.

"Estaba preocupado. Todo lo que nos importa aquí en ISPS es continuar promoviendo nuestro gran deporte de slow-pitch. Amamos todos los deportes, pero creemos que debemos seguir trabajando duro y hacer crecer el deporte de slow-pitch a nivel mundial. Cuando yo leí el artículo, inmediatamente quise ayudar porque conozco las dificultades que enfrenta la comunidad de slow-pitch en otros países donde el deporte no es tan popular como aquí en los Estados Unidos " dijo Ferrero.

ISPS planea desarrollar un plan integral para llevar eventos sancionados a Honduras.

También se discutieron los planes para desarrollar una división de mujeres.

"La idea es traer (y seguir trayendo) equipos a los campeonatos mundiales que representen a Honduras. Nos sorprendió gratamente ver cómo se desarrollaron sus programas actuales y creemos que están listos para llevar el deporte al siguiente nivel" continuó Ferrero.

ISPS planea reunirse la próxima semana para continuar el diálogo.

It all started when Commissioner Ferrero read an article about the slow-pitch community in Honduras having trouble finding a safe place to play.

"I was concerned. All we care about here at ISPS is continuing to promote our great slow-pitch sport. We love all sports, but we believe we must continue to work hard and grow the slow-pitch sport globally. When I read the article, I immediately wanted to help because I know the difficulties faced by the slow-pitch community in other countries where the sport is not as popular as here in the United States, "said Ferrero.

ISPS plans to develop a comprehensive plan to bring sanctioned events to Honduras.

Plans to develop a women's division were also discussed.

"The idea is to bring (and continue to bring) teams to the world championships that represent Honduras. We were pleasantly surprised to see how their current programs developed and we believe they are ready to take the sport to the next level," continued Ferrero.

ISPS plans to meet next week to continue the dialogue.
