Don Porter Dies at Age 90
Don Porter, a national treasure and softball leader, has died at age 90.
Mr. Porter passed away on Sunday in Oklahoma City where he built the Hall of Fame Stadium for Women's Softball.
Don Porter served as the head of ASA/USA Softball for more than three decades. And was the president of the International Softball Federation where he oversaw the addition of Baseball and Softball to the Olympics.
Don Porter is survived by his wife, Jean, and his three children, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
"Our condolences go out to the Porter Family and the entire Softball Community. We lost an important figure today in our world of softball. We at ISPS will honor Don Porter and his legacy by continuing his mission of bringing our sport to the globe." said ISPS Commissioner Manuel T. Ferrero III
Viewing services will be scheduled in the next coming weeks in OKC.
