Dan Smith outfielder Phil Matte got the game winning hit in the bottom of the 8th in the Championship game!

Dan Smith won the 25 team Conference USSSA Major at the River City Classic at Mid America Ballyard in Cincinnati, Ohio this past weekend.  The tournament was played 6/19/2020 tp 6/21/2020.  They beat Resmondo/Smash It/Sonny's/JJ's/RDD in the finals 54-53 and 53-52 winning both games in their final at bat.  They did so after losing the winner's bracket finals to Resmondo 60-45 in a game that finished at 1:30 AM Sunday morning.  Dan Smith was then back at the field for an 8 AM win over Smash It/Thunder 37-31 in the loser's final before "double dipping" Resmondo after 7 straight hours of softball in the summer heat and humidity.  Smash It/Thunder was third.  Smash It/Precision was 4th and the highest finishing 'AA' team.  Sports Reach finished 7th and was the highest finishing 'A' team.  MPT Rentals/Anarchy a non conference New Jersey 'B' team also tied for 7th with an impressive run in a tournament that had 18 'A' and higher teams in it.

1st Place – Lady SNI/OALabs/DeMarini/Louisville

Lady SNI narrowly escaped with the River City Womens Conference tournament win as they defeated upstart LaFamiglia Ladies/Easton/Riot 8-7 in the winner's final and 9-8 in the championship game of the 10 team event which was started and finished on Saturday.
