Miami, FL - After talks and discussion regarding current COVID-19 restrictions and quarantine mandates with certain countries, ISPS staff have decided to start looking for other possible destinations for the 2020 ISPS Hispanic World Tournament scheduled to be played in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico later this December.
Talks have already begun with possible destinations including, but not limited to; Arizona, Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Central America.
"COVID-19 has just been affecting many of our tournaments. With current flight restrictions, quarantine mandates, and safety measures it is just not going to be feasible to host the event in Hermosillo (Sonora, Mexico)." said ISPS Commissioner Manuel T. Ferrero III.
"Believe me, this hurts. We love Mexico. And in particular Hermosillo. But this is just for the safety of the athletes traveling from foreign destinations and the local slow-pitch community." continued Ferrero.
ISPS looks to bring back the Hispanic World Tournament to Mexico should it be needed to be moved this year.
