Team GIGANTES is the FIRST FOREIGN TEAM TO REACH WORLDS FINALS.

Slow pitch is a game that is enjoyed by people all around the world. Although it is most popular in the United States, there are many teams from other countries that compete at a high level. One of these teams is Team GIGANTES from Honduras.

Team GIGANTES from Honduras has done what was once thought of as unthinkable by becoming the first foreign team to ever reach the finals of a World Slow Pitch Championship tournament. This impressive feat was accomplished earlier this month when they defeated some of the best teams in the world, including OLD TIMERS of the United States, to make it to the championship game.

Although they ultimately lost to HAN SOLO in the finals, Team GIGANTES can hold their heads high knowing that they made history by becoming the first non-American team to ever make it to this prestigious level of competition. Their performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of spectacular, with some calling their run a Cinderella story.

This achievement is even more impressive when you consider that Team GIGANTES was competing against teams who have been playing slow pitch for many years longer than they have. The team from Honduras started playing together only a few years ago, but their skill and determination have propelled them to the top of the sport.

Their road to Worlds Finals began in bracket play, where they dominated RISCO PARK, OLD TIMERS, and HUNTERS en route to advancing to the finals. There they would face off against HAN SOLO, who had previously beaten them soundly in early bracket play. This set up a rematch against HAN SOLO in the finals, which they, unfortunately, lost by a score of 22-12.

Regardless of this loss, Team GIGANTES can walk away with their heads held high knowing that they put on an incredible performance at Worlds and made history in doing so. They have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with and will undoubtedly be one of the favorites heading into future World Championship tournaments.

"I am extremely proud and happy for Team GIGANTES, the country of Honduras, and the sport of slow pitch in general!... This goes to show and prove what I have been knowing and preaching all these years; there is talent out there outside of the US. We just need to give them a chance and opportunity to compete." Said Commissioner Manuel T. Ferrero III.

The future is bright for Team GIGANTES and the sport of slow pitch. Thanks to their historic run at Worlds, they have shown the world that anyone can achieve greatness if they set their mind to it. We can't wait to see what they do next!
