The Ironman Tournament: A Slow-Pitch Showdown You Won't Want to Miss

In the bustling world of slow-pitch, tournaments come and go, but only a few capture the essence of the sport while challenging its athletes to push their boundaries. Cue the Ironman Tournament. This isn't just another weekend in the park; it's a celebration of skill, strategy, and the slow-pitch community, hosted at the gorgeous Kendall Indian Hammocks Park.

Unpack the Powerhouse Details

The tournament is compact but fiercely competitive. With an entry fee of $400, teams are granted the chance to participate in a 7-game guarantee in the Bronze/Silver Mix category. The spots are limited, folks! A maximum of 8 teams will partake in this slow-pitch extravaganza, making each game a high-stakes play.

Quick & Dirty: 45-Minute Game Times

As any slow-pitch aficionado knows, time can be your best friend or worst enemy on the field. In the Ironman Tournament, each game lasts for just 45 minutes. This makes every inning, every out, and every home run crucial. Teams will need to strategize meticulously to make the most of every minute. No dilly-dallying here!

Senior Format: A Twist You Didn’t See Coming

The Ironman Tournament introduces a Senior Format, specifically designed to intensify the gameplay:

  • 5 Runs/Inning: Capping the runs at 5 per inning ensures that the games remain closely fought and competitive.
  • Last Inning Open: No cap for the final inning; it's anyone's game until the last out!
  • 1 HR/Inning: This feature heightens the stakes and makes every swing count.
  • 1 Band Guy: Ah yes, the band guy—a wild card who can influence the game in unpredictable ways.

The Seal of Approval: ISPS Sanctioning

As the founder and Commissioner of ISPS, Manuel T. Ferrero III is thrilled to announce that this tournament is sanctioned by ISPS and hosted by the USA Slow Pitch National Director, Bamm Baracas. This means that the tournament meets the highest standards set by the International Slow Pitch Softball organization. Teams participating in the Ironman Tournament will experience the best that slow-pitch has to offer, all under the trustworthy umbrella of ISPS.

Ready, Set, Swing!

So gear up for an incredible day of slow-pitch at Kendall Indian Hammocks Park, brought to you by BammAthletics and USA Slow Pitch, and sanctioned by none other than ISPS. We guarantee you'll walk away with not just grass stains and perhaps a prize, but also unforgettable memories and an even deeper love for this incredible sport.

See you on the field!
