Menace Triumphs at ISPS October Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament!

The ISPS October Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament was a showcase of skill, camaraderie, and commitment to a crucial cause. This year’s event, held at Mills Pond Park, brought together seven competitive teams from across Florida, all vying for the championship title while supporting breast cancer awareness.

Menace, the team from Florida, emerged as the champions, overcoming fierce competition and showing both determination and exceptional teamwork. With a final record of 5-1, Menace demonstrated their dominance on the field and claimed the top spot with a 0.833 winning percentage.

"We’re immensely proud of Menace and all the teams that participated," said Manuel T. Ferrero III, Commissioner of ISPS. "Each game was a testament to the players' skill and dedication, and we’re thrilled to see everyone come together for such a meaningful cause."

The tournament started strong with Menace beating Titans/Patriots 15-6 in their opening game. Their momentum continued as they faced teams like GTD, Smackin' Pitches, and Sandlot. GTD proved to be a formidable opponent in the finals, pushing Menace to their limits. However, in the deciding game, Menace secured their victory with a 12-6 win over GTD, solidifying their champion status.

The final standings underscored the level of competition:

  • Menace (FL): 5-1
  • GTD (FL): 3-2
  • Sandlot (FL): 3-2
  • Smackin' Pitches (FL): 2-3
  • Balls to the Wall (FL): 1-2
  • Bad Boyz Clewiston (FL): 1-2
  • Titans / Patriots (FL): 0-3

Aside from the exhilarating gameplay, the tournament held a special purpose. "Breast Cancer Awareness Month is close to our hearts," said Ferrero. "It’s important to leverage our platform to bring awareness to breast cancer, and having these dedicated teams supporting the cause is inspiring."

The ISPS Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament has become an annual highlight, combining sportsmanship with philanthropy. Every hit, slide, and home run not only pushed teams closer to victory but also raised awareness for breast cancer.

Menace’s journey was marked by high-scoring games and solid defense. Highlights included their 26-16 win over Smackin' Pitches and their clutch 9-7 victory in the semifinals. The final game against GTD was the culmination of a hard-fought tournament, and Menace’s players celebrated their victory on the field, proudly donning their championship medals.

Congratulations to Menace and all participating teams for making this tournament a memorable one. And thank you to the fans and supporters who came out, proving once again that the ISPS community is not only about competition but also about supporting impactful causes.
