The Miami Mermaids showcased their excellence, winning the Women’s Open Division at the 2024 ISPS Caribbean Classic Championships. With undefeated pool play and stellar teamwork, they left their mark in Fort Lauderdale. Here’s the full tournament recap!


Miami Mermaids Reign Supreme at the 2024 ISPS Caribbean Classic Championships!

The 2024 ISPS Caribbean Classic Championships lived up to its reputation as one of the most thrilling events on the slow-pitch softball calendar. Teams from across Florida and the Caribbean brought their A-game to Fort Lauderdale’s Mills Pond Park on November 16. However, it was the Miami Mermaids who swam ahead of the competition to claim the Women’s Open Division Championship.

Led by their stellar pitching and clutch hitting, the Mermaids went undefeated throughout the day, taking down the Lady Allstars from the Bahamas and Florida’s own Hot Mess Express.

  • The Miami Mermaids opened their campaign with a decisive 17-5 win over the Lady Allstars. Demonstrating superior batting strength and airtight defense, they surged ahead to secure a dominant victory.
  • Their next test was the fiery Hot Mess Express, but the Mermaids held their ground, earning a solid 12-6 victory and clinching the championship.
