A new era of slow-pitch softball is swinging into action at Shenandoah Park, and it’s tailor-made for senior athletes who aren’t ready to hang up their gloves just yet.

Thanks to a collaborative effort by the City of Miami and Mayor Francis Suarez, the newly formed Senior Active Adults Coed Slow-Pitch Softball League is bringing excitement, camaraderie, and high-energy competition to Thursday mornings in the heart of the city. Games take place from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, where two freshly minted teams — Legends and Dynasty — are already making noise.

“Slow-pitch softball isn’t just for the young—it’s for the young at heart,” said ISPS Commissioner Manuel T. Ferrero III. “This league is about health, happiness, and community. Legends and Dynasty are going to set the tone for what this program is all about: lifelong competition and lifelong friendships.”

Decked out in crisp blues, Dynasty is built on energy, balance, and enthusiasm. This team features a diverse mix of athletic veterans and newcomers ready to prove that age is just a number. With bats blazing and gloves ready, Dynasty is all about building a legacy.

Legends

True to their name, Legends brings experience, wisdom, and grit to the field. Don’t let the calm demeanor fool you — this team knows the game inside and out. Their veteran leadership and composed approach are what make them a real threat every inning.
