In a spectacular display of talent, commitment, and sportsmanship, ISPS and AVG300 teamed up once again to honor the standout athletes from the Torneo de Invierno 2024 across Categories “A” and “B”. The awards ceremony, powered by Agencias Way San Cristobal Mixco, lit up the weekend as individual leaders in hitting, pitching, and run production received well-earned recognition.
Mauricio Juarez etched his name into ISPS history books by securing a rare pitching triple crown — most wins, most strikeouts, and best ERA. Wearing multiple medals and a confident smile, Juarez stated, “It’s been a grind all season. I'm just grateful for the team that backed me up every game.”
On the offensive side, Gloria Lopez and Julio Coronado shared slugger supremacy, both grabbing titles for Most Home Runs and Most Total Hits, respectively. Eddy Gutierrez and Alejandra Flores rounded out the leaderboard with dominant RBI performances.
Alex Tórtola matched Juarez pitch-for-pitch in Category “A”, also clinching most wins, most Ks, and ERA leader. A poised presence on the mound, Tórtola’s consistency was key in powering his squad through tough matchups.
Meanwhile, the bats of Valquiria Garzo, Majo Muñoz, and Erick Urbaneja caught fire this winter. Garzo’s blend of power and clutch-hitting earned her the double distinction of Home Run Queen and RBI Leader, while Muñoz and Urbaneja dominated in hits.
Topping off the excitement was Kenny Macz, whose moonshot bombs propelled him to Home Run Leader in the highly competitive "A" circuit. His focus and bat speed became a weekly highlight for fans.
ISPS Commissioner Manuel T. Ferrero III reflected on the growing caliber of play:
“We are seeing elite-level talent at the grassroots. These athletes are redefining slow-pitch softball. ISPS is proud to showcase and elevate their efforts to the global stage.”
From the smiles of Val Alvarez lifting her golden trophies to the pride of Mau and Alex holding their pitching awards, this event was more than numbers — it was about legacy. Alvarez’s commanding bat earned her both the Home Run and RBI titles in Category “B,” further solidifying her legendary status.
ISPS, in partnership with Slow Pitch Familiar and AVG300, continues to provide athletes opportunities to shine, compete, and be celebrated.
Congratulations to all our individual leaders! Your stats spoke volumes, but your heart and hustle told the real story.
