The Brotherhood Runs Deep: Step Bros Crowned 2025 ISPS Summer Slam Slugfest Champions
The South Florida sun was blazing, but the Step Bros were even hotter.
With bats on fire and relentless determination, Step Bros (FL) powered their way to the 2025 ISPS Summer Slam Slugfest Men’s Division title, finishing the tournament with an impressive 4-1 record. Their championship run was marked by grit, timely hitting, and an explosive offense that racked up 81 runs while allowing just 82, edging out fierce rivals like the Miami Reds and Bad Boys Miami.
Hosted at Mills Pond, the Summer Slam Slugfest drew some of Florida’s most competitive men’s slow-pitch squads. But it was the Step Bros’ relentless approach—highlighted by their 28-run explosion in Game 10—that solidified their dominance.
“This tournament is what ISPS is all about—high-level play, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments,” said ISPS Commissioner Manuel T. Ferrero III. “The Step Bros brought the energy, passion, and sportsmanship that define our sport.”
Their tournament journey began with back-to-back wins, including a clutch 16-12 victory over Bad Boys Miami and a solid 16-12 showing against Los Lobos. Though they stumbled briefly in Game 7 with a tight 14-13 loss to Miami Reds, the Step Bros answered back emphatically, obliterating those same Reds 28-14 in the next meeting.
But the Miami Reds weren’t done yet.
In Game 11, the tournament’s final matchup, the Reds exploded for a shocking 22-16 win, proving they too belonged in the championship conversation. With a 3-2 record, 74 runs scored, and a positive run differential, the Reds finished as deserving finalists, showcasing depth, athleticism, and veteran leadership.
Despite the split results, it was the Step Bros’ consistency and earlier dominance that earned them the championship nod, including the tournament’s best win percentage at .800.

As ISPS continues to elevate the game through premier tournaments, athlete support, and media exposure, events like the Summer Slam Slugfest remind us why slow-pitch softball is more than a game—it’s a lifestyle.
